Mine left the planet. Then he pretended I didn’t exist by staring at the floor every time I saw him on campus until I started touching his arm and saying hey when he was awkward. Now we see each other all the time with our current BF/GF and we all 4 are friendly and civil and go about our days like it was just an old friend we saw.

In high school I was voted most popular, and everyone in my sorority says, “Oh just ask her she has tons of contacts in every organization and knows everyone!!” So I’m not “unpopular” but I do catch a lot of shit for being smart. The nerds in high school hated me too though because I went to parties every weekend, could drink most boys under the table, and taught underclassmen how to roll joints. So I guess I’m just going to have haters everywhere haha

Yeah but when you are smart and have grown up being called Jimmy Neutron and getting made fun of for being in gifted class, you don’t want to always look like the smartest one because you’ve always been treated like that’s bad. Even in college I’ve said smart things, and my friends roll their eyes at me. I’m guilty of rolling my eyes at the total nerds when they prove that once you exceed a certain IQ your social skills decrease, but I try to never reach that level of nerdiness with the things that I say.

Can you continue this story in columns? I’m eating this shit up. My FBF (also my cousin) is in the same situation with this gorgeous ADPi who wants her slutty college experience and only tells him she’s not ready to grow up and date someone yet. She actually tells him that she loves him though. He graduated but has always lived in our college town so he is still going to be around her.

I love this and wish I had had it with my last breakup! I kind of disagree on the get rid of ALL his stuff part though. Sure, I got rid of almost everything, but at my parents’ house, there is a framed picture of me and my first love buried in a dresser drawer. I think there’s something sentimental about your first love that you should at least keep a picture. Don’t make a shrine of all your exes or anything though.

  • Sratty Shat 8 years ago on Being On Standards Literally Drove Me Insane

Something similar happened with me, my godbig, and my little this semester. We are all on exec and a few girls started pitching fits about every decision we made and yelling about it during chapter. One girl went as far as to destroy my chance at being my favorite fraternity (and the fraternity my dad is an alum of)’s sweetheart. It’s like they decided we had too much power and wanted to rebel against everything, but they are who elected us to our positions, and we NEVER did anything that wasn’t our jobs per the bylaws. I guess the rest of exec didn’t take it to heart as much as we did, but my little and I went 48 hours without eating or wanting to eat after that meeting and felt sick for weeks at the mentioning of our sorority or anything to do with it, and my godbig threw up for the rest of the semester every time she went to chapter. It was AWFUL. My little stepped down from office. I am at risk for developing a chronic disease my sister was diagnosed with from stress. My godbig and I are praying for a better semester and quitting if nothing improves.

  • Sratty Shat 8 years ago on Mailbag: My "Friend" Hooked Up With My Hookup

One of my sisters did this to me. I black balled her to the point that she had inactive status from our sorority for a semester. I forgave her but we aren’t close like we used to be. As for the guy, I hate to admit it but I tried to really hate him for so long but it lead to aggressive hate hookups for awhile. I did end up cutting him out of my life, though, around the time he caught the feels and told everyone that we were talking. I have a fantastic boyfriend that he’s jealous of now. Don’t worry it all works out in the end!

  • Sratty Shat 9 years ago on An Open Letter To My Ex-Best Friend

This is exactly how I feel about my high school sweetheart. I see him on campus every day and we smile and wave and I’m so happy to see him happy with his girlfriend. He has classes with my boyfriend and they’re fine with each other. It’s taken 4 years for us to get to this point of being friendly to each other and of course I still love him but it’s not in the way I love my boyfriend. It’s a fond memory you were my best friend and I want the best for you love. We’ve both gone to the funeral home for each other when our grandmothers passed away. It’s like we are finally to the point that we can be there for each other when things go bad because we were such huge parts of each other’s lives but there’s no romance left to confuse things.

  • Sratty Shat 9 years ago on This AXO Was Told She Wasn't Pretty Enough To Be Homecoming Queen

And to the girls who are featured here and do feel hurt because you were stereotyped as “beautiful” and “thin.”

Omg how dare them compliment you! Ladies, saying you’re beautiful and thin wasn’t meant to be derogatory. Most homecoming queens are, and I think we can all agree to that. And why is a stereotype a bad thing? Maybe physically these three girls (and several of the others that weren’t featured) fit the mold. That’s not to say that these are the only aspects of them as a person. I fit several stereotypes, and I’m not mad. I think it would be beating a dead horse on this site to elaborate on that we have many more facets as humans than a single stereotype.

You know who doesn’t feel shamed? All the other candidates who shared this on Facebook. Don’t even make it about shaming beauty. Laken is beautiful. She looks like a Kardashian, and she is one of the most down to earth girls I know, and the other gorgeous candidates have wonderful attributes as well. Nothing’s is being taken away from them. Over half of the candidates weren’t even featured on here and they, too, are beautiful. And you know who submitted this tip? My best friend–who isn’t and AXO but was overwhelmingly inspired. If Zoe doesn’t inspire you, and that’s not what you take from this article, that’s your problem.
