The majority of the articles published is meant for entertainment because it’s satire. It’s not meant to be taken seriously, so I don’t think TSM has ever called itself all about women empowerment.
There are so many different things that go into selecting a PNM on the sorority’s side; it is hard to understand just how difficult and stressful recruitment is for the sororities until you have gone through recruitment on the other side. One of the factors is grades. Perhaps you have good grades, but not all of your friends may have made the minimum GPA requirement. Also, I am not sure why you felt the need to point out that one of the chapters you didn’t like was affiliated with a religion you didn’t belong to. Trying to pinpoint a particular sorority and point fingers honestly makes you look immature. Lastly, just because another one of your friends went to a “desirable” high school does not in any way mean that she will be guaranteed a bid or not be dropped by some chapters.
Many universities are starting to do a “no frills” system, which is a great step-up in leveling the playing field, but there is never going to be one system that will make everyone perfectly happy. Perhaps there is an argument to be made for doing Spring Recruitment instead of Fall, but you didn’t point out any of these reasons in your article. All you did was bash sororities and the girls in these chapters by insinuating that they don’t keep to the “creeds of their organizations”. How do you know that the sorority girls at your university don’t keep to their values if you are not part of the Greek system?
I am sorry that you had such a rough go at recruitment both times you went through, but your tone in this article, the examples you provided, and the negative insinuations you made all make you look immature and bitter.
The problem isn’t that this article is unfair, but that there are a lot of different kinds of relationships, and that this is an over-generalizing. However, it is still true to a certain degree. Girls’ friendship with each other will always be different than a girl and her boyfriend.
I hate celebrity comments on political issues because they literally can’t relate to anyone normal, yet they seem to think that they can tell the general public what to do.
Sending lots of love and prayers ❤️ LITB!
Someone definitely came to mind when reading this
Sorry love, I accidentally down voted you but I completely agree!
This is why you don’t judge a book by its cover. LITB ❤️
Lots of love from San Diego! LITB ❤️
It sounds like you’re implying that you can only be a strong, independent woman if you have the validation of a man or if you’re doing “guy” stuff.
Sending lots of love and support! LITB ❤️

I fucking love you. Thank you for writing this article.
And of course, there’s Condoleezza Rice, who was in Alpha Chi Omega at the University of Denver!

I have always felt like this, but could never put it into words. Thank you so much for this!!!
why the hell are you even on TSM if you’re antisorority??
this was at Alpha Chi Omega’s annual philanthropy show to fight against domestic violence.
